The Cruising Yacht Club of Australia, with the cooperation of the Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania is pleased to announce details of an organised Cruise to Hobart to take place in January - February 2009.
A non time-based voyage from Sydney to Hobart, the Cruise has been organised to follow a set of communication and safety disciplines with a designated arrival time in Hobart no later than midday on 5 February 2009.

Offshore, Balance was sailing along quite nicely and maintaining good boat speed before getting caught in the thunderstorms. "That was one of the most intense thunderstorms I have seen in a long time, said Paul. "The lightening lit up the night sky - but being in the middle of a lightening & thunderstorm with an aluminium mast is something that when it hits - you know that it's one place that you don't want to be and it's paramount to ensure crew safety." |
